Several days of trial proceedings and testimony ended on October 9, 2014 with a unanimous jury verdict for our client, Sunoco, in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in Boston. This was a business dispute between Sunoco and one of its former “North Shore” dealers who alleged that Sunoco breached its responsibilities in a contract governed by the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act (“PMPA”). It took the jury about three hours of deliberation before returning its verdict that awarded Sunoco all of its damages and denied all the “bad faith” and other claims made by the Defendant and his legal team. Judge Richard Stearns has recorded the verdict and the dealer will not now continue to suggest to other area dealers that he “pulled the wool over Sunoco’s eyes”. (Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) v. Daaboul, Docket 12-CV-13074- RGS).
